The quality of the condoms and the major requirements for them are established by the standards. When I use the condom, what substances may I use as the lubricants?
You may use the additional lubricants containing the gel on the water base; they are usually sold in the sex shops. Besides, to moisture the vagina and to ensure the double contraceptive action, you may use, together with the condoms, «Pharmatex» in form of the suppositories, the capsules, the tampons or the cream, because «Pharmatex» is made on the base of water, to distinguish from the other local contraceptives, containing the hard fats as their base. The cosmetic creams (hand cream, Vaseline, even the oil for baby care), the fats and oils should never be used as the additional lubricant, as all of them cause the destruction of latex. The spittle is also not recommended due to the possible presence of the microbes.
Is there any classification of the condoms according to the size? What to do if the usual size is too small?
NF norm (NF is the French national standard of quality of the condoms, that is, at the same time, the evidence of the conformity to the general European quality standards) provides for 2 groups of the sizes, and the condoms are to correspond to them:
- — The length of 160 mm (minimum) and the width of 52 mm;
- — The length of 150 mm (minimum) and the width of 49 mm (minimum).
The different countries produce the various models varying, besides the other features, in size. The smaller sizes are produced in Japan for the internal market, but they are not practically sold here. Europe and America produce the small lots of the large sizes, and that is indicated on the packing. Really the penis of length of 200 mm and of width of 50 mm needs to use just the large size of the condom, but the dominant part of the men feels them good in the usual condoms.
Innotex offers two sizes of the condoms: the standard Innotex size (length — 170 mm, and width — 52 mm), and Innotex Plus (length — 200 mm, and width — 56 mm), they are also in conformity with the European standards.

If water does not penetrate through the micropores of the condom, HIV also can not pass through, if, evidently, the condom is of high quality and is not damaged. Innotex condoms were tested in A. Fournier Institute in Paris (the WHO center for the research of sexually transmitted diseases) in December of 1988. During the tests Innotex condoms were verified for penetration of some viruses, being of even smaller size than AIDS virus. The results of the tests approved that no virus could penetrate through the membrane of the condom.
The tests with the use of the latest methods, held in Virus Oncology Laboratory in the Paster Institute in Paris, in September of 1989, approved that Innotex condoms form the unconquerable barrier for AIDS virus.
I had read in the popular book that the unsmooth condoms, with spots, ribs, etc., are not to be used for contraception, as they are not reliable. Is that true?
